This Spring I’ve vowed to wear more jackets. Now if you really know me, you’ll be shocked by this post because you know I’m not a faux leather girl (or real leather for that matter either). As much as I LOVE the trend and really appreciate a good leather jacket, I just feel like I look weird in it! I don’t care if it’s sleek black, cognac, taupe, you name it, I just look awkward! I broke out this vintage jacket of my mom’s from the 80’s (early 90’s possibly) because I need more jackets in my life! Yes, I still look and feel awkward but that’s okay! As much as I love this classic swing dress I knew it just need a little something extra and this jacket did the job!
Kelly Green is a wardrobe staple, in my opinion. It’s not just because it’s March, or that I’m obsessed with St. Patrick’s Day, or the fact that I’m very Irish. I just love the color and feel like it’s one of those colors that I personally can wear year round. It does however help that it is so close to St. Paddy’s Day, so naturally I broke this little dress out for a hot sec. While I already showed you a super casual look for the upcoming holiday, I like keeping my options open. Typically, I go super casual. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m accustomed to being asked to dance at least once (I’m a former Irish dancer) or if it just because t-shirts are much more forgiving of green beer, but I like a comfy cute look for the day. I stepped my outfit up just a wee bit (feel free to hate me now) with a sassy jacket. I know, I know, faux leather is not Dallas’ thing but I think it ties the whole outfit together pretty well!
Give me your tips for rocking faux leather in the comments!
