I’ve been super MIA lately, far longer than I ever anticipated but let me tell you – one of the biggest reasons is because the past two months have flown by. Can we all just stop and realize that it’s AUGUST already?!

So first off, as you know I’m engaged.  Planning a wedding without a wedding planner is damn near impossible. Everyone always says that not getting a planner is one of their biggest regrets and I can tell you that it is 100% my biggest regret. I let my mom talk me out of getting one and I’m pretty sure that I’ve taken 5 years off my life with all of this stress lately. God bless my MOH though because she is literally a godsend when it comes to keeping me on task.

Next up – I’ve started diving deeper into my goal of creating an online presence for my mug business. For those who haven’t seen it, I started The Violet Veranda not quite a year ago and it took off far beyond my wildest dreams. Lately, I’ve been pushing it a bit to see just how far we can take this adventure and let me tell you, it seems completely limitless which is awesome and terrifying at the same time.

Lastly, I’ve been trying to by my first house with my fiance. Obviously it’s something we intended to get done before the wedding and unfortunately we just keep hitting road blocks… and I mean massive road blocks. I was so hoping to post about our new house but after picking the perfect place, and finally getting an offer accepted, we were made aware of some serious issues during our home inspection. We are hoping to find a solution to them but we won’t actually get keys until a few weeks after our wedding (provided we don’t hit anymore snags).

All in all its been a crazy couple of months but I’m hopeful that things will start to look up soon. Thanks for hanging on while I took an impromptu hiatus but sometimes it’s just nice to take a step back.
