Headed to Ireland during the Fall? Then this packing guide will truly be a lifesaver for any women traveling to Ireland in the chillier months!
Let’s be real honest, we all know I’m an overpacker. It doesn’t have to be a long trip either; overnight, a one hour drive, a month. I just pack all of my belongings ever. Just like my favorite Jenna video (Seriously this is my favorite thing ever, it’s hilarious if you haven’t seen it).
So, what do you really need to take to Ireland for a trip in the Fall? Well, fret not because I’ve compiled a handy dandy little list for you!
This packing list specifically focuses on 9 days mid-October, for reference, but can always be changes for fewer or more days (let’s be real, you’ll always want MORE days in Ireland, right!?)
4 pants (I gravitate towards dark and black denim)
1 pair of leggings
4 sweaters (consider packing a cardigan or two in place of sweaters so you can get more outfit options out of it, yet still have a lighter load in the suitcase!)
3 long sleeve tops
1 tank for layering
1 dressier top or dress if you’re feeling brave (watch that wind!)
2 pairs of boots (waterproof and warm!)
1 pair of comfy shoes (you’ll be doing a LOT of walking, your feet will thank you)
1 heavy coat
1 jacket (if you’re lucky you’ll use it a couple times)
1 scarf
Undies and whatnot
The list is long, but in actuality, there isn’t much to it BUT that’s a good thing (in my opinion). I do a lot of shopping while I’m in Ireland. After all, Europe is vastly ahead in trends compared to the United States. So I like to buy a LOT of clothes while I’m abroad, which means I need a lot of suitcase space to get it all back. I *try* to keep my packing list very brief because I know I’ll find something in Ireland that I will want to wear more than whatever old thing I brought with me. So being realistic, I try to pack lots of solids and basics so I can mix and match and re-wear a couple things. I hate re-wearing items and being an outfit repeater (hello, Lizzie McGuire movie scene), but in all honesty, you’ll wear a jacket or coat so much that people won’t really know what is hiding under it, so if you re-wear a sweater it isn’t the end of the world.
Now this packing list is in no means perfect for anyone including myself, but it is a great starting point and will hopefully help you remember something you may have otherwise forgotten.
